Holiday: Start of National Hispanic Heritage Month

  • IIDA Georgia Chapter 351 Peachtree Hills Avenue Northeast, Suite 503E Atlanta, GA, 30305 United States (map)

Join IIDA Georgia as we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. Enacted into law in 1988, this month celebrates the histories of cultures and contributions of American Citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. September 15th is significant as it is the anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries - Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Please support the many activities taking place around the Nation and in our Atlanta community in commemoration of National Hispanic Heritage Month and the many contributions Hispanics have made to the United States.
