Modern Living: Gio Ponti and the 20th Century Aesthetics of Design
The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia, in Athens, would like to inform you of the upcoming exhibition of the father of modern Italian design, Giò Ponti. GMOA will present, “Modern Living: Giò Ponti and the 20th-Century Aesthetics of Design” on view June 10 – September 17, 2017.

Known as the father of modern Italian Design, Giò Ponti created important works architecture, furniture, decorative art and industrial products, using both traditional and modern materials and techniques. Ponti was a supporter of Italian traditions in craftsmanship, artistic design, and modernizing manufacturing. This exhibition will present over 50 objects and the Georgia Museum will publish an exhibition catalogue, the first major work in English on Ponti’s career.
